The Daily News is a daily newspaper in Jacksonville, North Carolina. It has served the city of Jacksonville Onslow County which is also home to the Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeuneand it's surrounding areas since 1953.

The Jacksonville Daily News is consistently honored among the state's best newspapers for both it's print publication and online news site, jdnews.com.

In 2015, the North Carolina Press Association awarded the newspaper three First place awards in for Sports Coverage, Feature Section Design, and News Section Design; plus a Second place award for Sports Feature Photo, and two Third place awards for Online Breaking News Coverage and Education Reporting; two First place awards for Best Motor Vehicle Ad and Best Niche Publication, as well as a Second place award for Best Black & White Institutional Ad.

In March 2018, The Daily News announced Onslow County native and former online content editor, Amanda Humphrey as managing editor. Humphrey covered the education, government and military news beats and produced award-winning online content as the newspaper's digital editor. Humphrey earned a bachelor's degree in Mass Communication from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke.

The Daily News was owned by Freedom Communications until 2012, when Freedom sold its Florida and North Carolina papers to Halifax Media Group. In 2015, Halifax was acquired by New Media Investment Group.

It was a broadsheet-format daily until June 1, 2009, when it and two sister dailies, the Sun Journal and the Kinston Free Press converted to a berliner-style format. Since the format change all three papers are laid out and published in Jacksonville.
